REVIEW: SIMPLE PERFECTION BY ABBI GLINES

Woods had his perfect life mapped out for him. Rise up the ranks of the family business. Marry the rich girl of his parents’ dreams. Pretend that wealth and privilege was all he’d ever wanted. Then a girl named Della breezed into town, a beautifully imperfect stranger who captured his heart and opened his eyes to a new kind of future. Woods is ready and willing to sacrifice everything for her when the sudden death of his father leaves him with his mother to care for and a business to manage.

Della is determined to be strong for Woods, even as she’s quietly falling to pieces. No matter how far from home she’s run, the ghosts of her past have never stopped haunting her. Struggling to hide her true feelings from Woods, Della fears she can’t be his rock without dragging him down into the darkness with her. But is she strong enough to let go of the last thing holding her together?

Where to find Simple Perfection:

I'm fairly convinced, now, that Abbi Glines can do no wrong. I've yet to read her Sea Breeze series (I KNOW, I KNOW..it's on my list!! SHEESH!) but I bet I'd love it as much as I've loved everything else I've read of hers. Simple Perfection is no different...LOVED it.

Yeah, I agree. I had read all of her books but ONE until last month when TWO more came out! Thank God that woman writes like a machine! I panic a little bit when I don't have something written by her that I know is going to be written well, and rip my heart out but still make me love the characters by the end...

Speaking of well written...Simple Perfection begins right where Twisted Perfection left off. I was really worried that the bitch Angelina was going to try worm her way back in with Woods and I wasn't wrong..what a bitch. Thank god Woods has a brain in his head and shot her down..every.single.time. Just because Angelina doesn't get to dig her claws in too deep, though, doesn't mean that trouble isn't brewing. There is definitely trouble in the Rosemary Beach paradise.

I was glad how he handled that whole sitch too, and we got to experience the scene in Forever Too Far where we got another taste of Bad-Ass Blaire. I'm still not sure how people like that function in normal society, but I guess when you have a ton of money, you can act however you damn well please...even if it is insane. It is easy to see though how the new dynamic of Woods smothering Della is going to cause a lot of problems. Woods is still hotter than hell in this book and his dirty talk there toward the end was fanfreakingtastic! *whoo* still

Ahhh...the dirty mouth of Woods. Sigh. Love it. Unfortunately that dirty mouth doesn't prevent problems...darn it! The trouble begins with this internal dialogue that Della can't seem to rid herself of. She's convinced that she isn't good enough for Woods and even though she's madly in love with him, she also seems to have one foot out of the door. Things get better and Woods begins to take over his new status at the country club while giving Della space to breath and take on a new job. She excels in it and manages to push her doubts to the side until a very unfortunate event sends her searching for herself, trying to gather her strength, all the while aching with love for Woods. As she takes this journey she's lucky enough to have Tripp and Braden to advise her, comfort her, and kick her in the butt when needed.

I seriously love Tripp. Woods may not like Della and his friendship, but she really needed not only someone like him, but him specifically because he understood exactly how it felt to not truly belong to the highfalutin country club world in Rosemary. He doesn't push or pry, or at least not in obvious ways but earns her trust and inadvertently helps her on her way to finding herself. Braden was not nearly as present in this book as the first one, but she is still a huge part of Della's life. She is the best friend and sister from another mister that anyone could want!

This story delves deeper into Della's horrid upbringing and sheds light on the source of her nightmares. Weaved into the story we also get a taste of Rush and Blaire, Jace and Bethy, Tripp, and the Grant/Nan/Harlow CF. It also drops some bombs along the way. Be prepared.

Oh. Emm. Gee. I was seriously shocked. I don't think Abbi (Yeah, I use her name in normal conversation like we're BFF's or something...Weird I know..sorry, not sorry) has ever done anything quite so shocking to me before (I mean, it's like she stabbed my heart). I am still in shock and cannot believe the turn of events in the secondary characters at the end of this book and it is for reals a game changer. Just still..cannot believe this! Okay, sorry I'm so melodramatic, but if you don't think I will be staying up however long it takes when Tripp's book comes out you will be mistaken!

What we are left with is a very satisfactory conclusion to Woods and Della's story and a hunger for what the rest of the Rosemary Beach crew will do. I cannot wait to see what comes next! I will also be impatiently waiting for the next book to come out!!!

P.S. I also saw a probably 14 year old girl in an elevator today with Existence in her hand in paperback (which I haven't seen out and about before, and I got really excited) and got really excited and might've freaked her and her mom out a bit! Oh well...can't help that I love Abbi Glines books and get really excited when I see other people with them!
