Is love in the cards?

Since birth, Lexie Berry has had nothing but bad luck. Orphaned at an early age, she had a rough childhood and a boyfriend who was murdered. Now the beautiful, stylish Lexie is determined to change her luck and her life. But first she's got to make good on a promise: to pick up Ty Walker from prison. One look at the gorgeous ex-convict and Lexie knows she's in trouble-and already thinking about taking a walk on the wild side . . .

For five years, Ty was imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit. Now he wants revenge on the people who framed him. Yet when the high-stakes poker player sees the leggy Lexie, he suddenly has other desires on his mind. Realizing that Ty is innocent, Lexie tries to stop his plan for vengeance and help him become a better man. But as Ty battles his inner demons, dirty cops and criminals plot to take him out. Our Review---
Y'all, seriously. SERIOUSLY. My lovefest with Kristen Ashley is just neverending and I repeat myself in my reviews for her because...well..I have nothing but great things to say and there are only so many ways and words to express the love I have for the world she creates and I knowingly sink myself into.  I am sure we might drive some people nuts, but I am becoming a huge pusher of this series. Now we've enjoyed it and it is the best thing we can think of to have some one else read it too! Please read it!

As Courtney was reminding me in our g-chat (as I was wondering what I could say that wasn't boring and repetitive), Lady Luck gives us a little something different than some of the other novels in this series. Never fear we have our badass mountain man (sexy Ty) and our sassy lovable heroine (Lexie), the friends of Carnal, and a wronged to be righted...but this one tackles things...some ugly societal things. I'll leave it at that because within pages you will have a good idea of what I'm referencing.  Yep. From the very get go this is different. From how they meet. To where they go for the weekend. To how they get back to Carnal and on and on. It had a completely different vibe for me, and I just seriously was refreshed and revived in reading and not that I needed CPR or anything, it was a very nice feeling!

Another difference is that our first meeting of our mountain man, Ty, is when he walks out of a California prison. He's short on words or emotion..which we come to understand through yet another difference in this novel--dual POVs. We get to be in Ty's head throughout the entire journey of this novel which is amazeballs! Thank Goodness! Because like you said he doesn't talk much at first! I loved his thoughts, because for the first time ever I think, we get the full book with his point of view. If it was like this before...I can't remember, and apologize if so...but it is nice to know why Ty wants vengeance and some of what his plans are before Lexie did so I didn't go completely crazy wondering what was going to happen!

Both Lexie and Ty come from crappy upbringings. Lexie managed to hook up with Ella, the closest thing she has to a mom, in her teen years and with Ella's support made a sweet little life for herself (minus her dead ex boyfriend--what a mess!). Ty, also had outside support in the form of a recluse named Tuku. Needless to say, if these two people hadn't been around to show Ty and Lexie the good in being good, this probably would've been a very different novel. Luckily they know that they want happiness and after some pretty hurtful and rough incidents between them, they final settle into a relationship space that will let them pursue that happiness. And then I looked down at my Kindle and realized I had a WHOLE LOT of novel left. uh oh. Yep. Shit hits the fan early and often in this novel. The bad guys--too many and too unpredictable. I think until the last chapter I was holding my breath!

The bad guys in this book are sort of a continuation from Sweet Dreams...and really there was no end in sight. How do you fight those that are supposed to uphold all manners of the law when they're the ones who are breaking the most? The whole entire town is scared to death and doesn't know what to do...so luckily again the entire gang from Sweet Dreams is back to offer their support to this man who had his life stolen fro him.

I loved the epilogue! ME TOO!!!!!! I like the future car we get to be in so we know what is happening! It was amazing!

I loved the continuation of the storylines of our favorite mountain people. Lauren, Tate, Krystal, Buddy, Shambles, Sunny, Woods, Maggie and company are back and better than ever. Love them all. Want to be their friends!
I absolutely LOVED the candor and amazing way she tackled the 'issue' in this novel...and in that way I felt it was more Ty's story than Lexie's. Yep. Refreshing. Amazing. Loved it.
I...uh...just...freakin' LOVED IT. (I know..I KNOW. I say that every time..but I did love it. SHEESH.) This is one of my favorites because Ty and Lexie got together quick, but it didn't feel too fast or cliche. I really loved their entire dynamic and how they both have to prove themselves to each other after many many misunderstandings. No easy road for these two, but read to find out how Lady Luck decides to shine on them!

About the Author---
Kristen Ashley grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana, and has lived in Denver, Colorado, and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.

Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multigenerational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland, and Kristen grew up listening to the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon, and Whitesnake.

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.
