REVIEW: LEGAL AFFAIRS: OBJECTION BY SAWYER BENNETT

An Adult Contemporary Romance Serial Series
By Bestselling Author Sawyer Bennett

Legal Affairs: Objection is FREE for a limited time.

One year ago, I graduated from law school and embarked on a career as a purveyor of high priced legal shenanigans.

Six months ago, my boyfriend dumped me when I thought he might be proposing.

Two weeks ago, I got drunk and joined a secret sex club.

Two days ago, I had a torrid one-night stand with a stranger.

Today? Well, today I’m contemplating having an affair with my boss.

Matt Connover is all kinds of forbidden temptation wrapped up in a deliciously wicked package, and he’s made it clear… he’s only interested in sex.

My name is McKayla Dawson but everyone calls me Mac. I work at the powerhouse firm of Connover & Crown, LLP, where the law has never felt so hot.

But between you and me, I’m afraid my heart won’t survive these Legal Affairs.

Bringing My Real Life Into Fictional Writing
By Sawyer Bennett

So, I’m a lawyer. A trial lawyer to be exact. I’ve spent the past 16 years arguing my heart out to juries but honestly, it wasn’t that big of a transition to bring my creativity in oral prose to the pages.

I’ve been dying to write a romance with a legal theme floating in the background. Legal Affairs was the perfect opportunity and I have more ideas for future books that revolve around lawyers, hot sex, gooey romance and interesting cases.

In Legal Affairs, I went light on the legal action. This was mainly because each volume has a limited budget of words, but there is a defined case that our heroine, McKayla Dawson handles in this story. It’s an actual case based on one of the very first cases I handled when I was a young lawyer fresh out of law school. The factual details are straight from my own files and it was an amazing trip down memory lane.

One of my biggest challenges as a trial lawyer was getting a jury to step into my client’s shoes… to make them feel in their gut how much my client had been affected. It’s been an incredible journey to make my readers feel an emotional tie to the characters in my stories.  When that connection happens, it is beyond awesome.

Legal Affairs is a serial romance with a whole lot of hot and a little bit of funny. It has six volumes that will be released every two weeks, the first one, entitled Objection, on January 10, 2014. Each title is between 12,000-15,000 words with the last one close to 20,000 words.

Our Review---
My only objection to this serial novella...is that I have to wait for the next part. It was seriously hot...boy can Sawyer Bennett pack some steaminess in to so few words. It's not just the sexy times that makes this so enjoyable though...it was also getting to know Mac and Matt. They both have interesting things to offer--his dominating presence and her refusal to hold back her thoughts, his command in the office and her funny interior monologue--and these two, I can already see, are going to create fireworks...maybe even a sonic boom. They are indeed off the charts with the chemistry between them. I loved the start of this series, because well...it was quite an unconventional meeting between them and definitely a departure from the Off Series!! I got really excited to be reading this within the first page, and I cannot wait to see where it goes from here!

I feel like I have a lot to look forward to in this series: The verbal barbs (i.e. foreplay) that Mac and Matt will exhange --h-o-t.The sexual chemistry/tension between Mac and Matt is going to be off the charts. The cases they will undertake--interesting. The whole One Night Only club and what will happen with that and with Macy (and Mac? and Matt?)--I certainly hope we get to know her better too..she seems like a ton of fun. Undoubtedly Lorraine will cause some trouble (she has trouble written all over her!) and the case that Mac is spearheading could be a possible intriguing storyline. And that's the beauty of this series--it could go in so many different directions and with Sawyer's engaging writing and great characters, I KNOW each new installment will be having me wanting and begging for the next part! !!!! You said it. In how many words was it..about 14,000..we got all that. That is a testament to Sawyer's writing. We got a lot of hotness and steam, but also got a lot of plot. I love plot. Love, love, love it. We got it. There are going to be many nuances to this story, and that is not going to be just about whether or not the two MC's can keep their hands off each other. It already has a lot of heart that is definitely the same as the Off Series, and I can't wait to see what happens next!!

Great start to the series...Pick this one up! Part ONE --- this one...is FREE!!!

About the Author---
USA Today Best-Selling author, Sawyer Bennett, is a snarky southern woman and reformed trial lawyer who decided to finally start putting on paper all of the stories that were floating in her head.
